On June 16th, further easing of sanitary measures have been announced due to a significant improvement of the health situation in France.

A Lifting of Health Measures

In the light of the rate of vaccination and the decrease in contamination, it was announced June 16th that the curfew would be lifted on June 20th.

Prior to this announcement, June 9th marked the 3rd stage of the gradual lifting of the measures, which specified: companies can decide the number of people allowed at the office as well as the number of days. Regarding the reopening schedule, cafés and restaurants can open their indoor spaces. Gyms are also allowed to reopen. Also, organizers have been able to resume their activities with 50% of the attendees up to a limit of 5,000 people. If the event has over 1,000 people, a health pass is required.

The lifting of the restrictions occurs in a context where, in France, around 30 million people have received at least one vaccine injection, which represents ca 45% of the total population (status June 14th. For updated info click here)

 

Health Pass: Your Key to Access to Major Events


Since June 9th, a temporary health pass has been introduced to help people return to normal life while minimizing the risk of contamination. The pass, available digitally through the "Tous Anti-Covid" virus tracing app or in paper form, provides proof that an individual has been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or has tested negative with a recent Covid-19 PCR test.

This pass is required for participation in events with more than 1,000 people. Such gatherings include, large theatres, sports or cultural events, festivals, fairs and exhibitions, etc.

The French health pass can currently be used for attending large events and will facilitate international travel within the EU.

 

Opening Borders with Europe and Beyond


As of June 9th, the entirety of the European area has been categorized in green, which means that travelers currently do not have to provide a reason for travel within the EU. Borders are also open to foreign travelers from countries with no active circulation of the virus which includes Australia, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, and South Korea.
